Yorkshire-based tour operator Airedale Tours has launched a small tours division, focussing on people who want to travel together as a group but do not have the ‘traditional’ amount of 20 or more people.

Airedale’s new department will be targeting its services at groups of people between ten and 19 people. Parties of walkers or cyclists as well as a convoy of cars are welcome to use Airedale’s new service.

Airedale Tours offers British and European holidays to its customers. Example itineraries in the UK include a four day break called A ‘Brief Encounter’, Southern Lakeland and the Witches of Pendle, and a five day break called All-inclusive Edinburgh, Ayrshire and Glasgow.

The Cumbrian-based ‘Brief Encounter’, Southern Lakeland and the Witches of Pendle break has a suggested itinerary that includes a half day excursion to Carnforth Station, famous as the setting for scenes in the David Lean film Brief Encounter.

Other places of interest that can be included on this holiday include Coniston Water, the Beatrix Potter Gallery, and Windermere Lake. Visitors can also take a coach tour into the Ribble Valley.

All-inclusive Edinburgh, Ayrshire and Glasgow is a newly-launched break based in the family-owned three-star Abington Hotel, 30 miles south of Glasgow.

The hotel takes one group at a time so visitors are assured of personal service at all times. The package includes packed lunches, wine with dinner, and entertainment.

Excursions can include a tour through Borders country towards Edinburgh with a stop at the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel, and visits to Glasgow, the Ayrshire coast and Dumfries House.
