Shuttleworth’s 2027 air show will feature a programme of flying displays, ground attractions and family activities.

Located in Bedfordshire, Shuttleworth is home to some of the world’s oldest examples of historic aircraft. Following the sell-out success of its 2026 shows, Shuttleworth has announced its calendar of events for next year, with seven air shows set to take place including a new Season Finale Air Show on 25th September 2027.

Marc Boult, head of visitor operations at Shuttleworth, said: “The 2026 air show season exceeded all our expectations, and we’re already looking ahead to an exciting 2027. Preparations are well underway, with Summer Air Show set to be a particular highlight.”

These events will cater to all ages and there will be a variety of themed attractions, fun fair and interactive STEM-focused discovery zone displays for younger visitors.

Festival of Flight makes a return

Shuttleworth’s flagship air show, Festival of Flight, will return on 26th-27th June 2027, following a hit 2026 event which was described as “probably the best airshow anywhere in the world this year” by Vintage Aviation News.

The programme will include flying displays from Shuttleworth’s renowned collection as well as visiting aircraft from across the UK and overseas. The event will include ground attractions, interactive experiences, live entertainment and on-site camping.

A packed season of shows

Kicking off the festivities will be the Season Premiere Air Show, taking place on 9th May 2027, followed by the return of the Military Air Show on 29th May 2027 which will showcase military aircraft, vehicles and history, as a tribute to all military personnel.

Shuttleworth’s much-anticipated Summer Air Show will be back on 24th July with an American theme for 2027, to mark the 80th anniversary of the US Air Force. Visitors can expect to see a range of classic American aircraft taking to the Bedfordshire skies, plus American-inspired food, a fun fair and a STEM-focused Discovery Zone.

Wings & Wheels Air Show will take place on 14th August 2027 in a combined celebration of motoring and aviation, while the popular Flying Proms Air Show on 28th August 2027 will see choreographed aerobatic displays set to live performances by the National Symphony Orchestra.

The season will end with an all-new air show on 25th September 2027. Season Finale Air Show will feature daytime flying displays by Shuttleworth’s collection and visiting aircraft, followed by a vibrant evening show of fireworks and pyrotechnics.
