Visitors can step back in time with the Group’s Festive Package at the King Richard III Visitor Centre, featuring medieval feasting and a fascinating insights into yuletide celebrations of the past.
The museum in Leicester is inviting visitors to experience how the festive season was spent in medieval times.
Available on selected dates between 24th November and 14th December, the Group’s Festive Package includes a two-course feast made with seasonal and local ingredients.
Groups will also get exclusive access to the visitor centre, as part of the package, allowing you to explore at your own pace, uncovering the story of King Richard III and his discovery.
The offer also includes:
- A welcome drink: start with coffee, tea, mulled wine, or spiced apple juice.
- Christmas spiced crafts: create a fragrant pomander while enjoying a warm drink.
- Feasts & Festivities talk: learn about medieval Christmas traditions.
About the King Richard III Visitor Centre
After the discovery of remains in the car park back in 2012, the visitor centre was built to tell the remarkable search for, and then subsequent discovery, of King Richard III.
The exhibition gives visitors the chance to learn more about the King’s life and death including one of the greatest archaeological detective stories every told. Groups can see the exact spot where Richard III’s remains were buried and understand the significant events that led to his hasty burial and eventual rediscovery.
Groups of 15 or more receive discounted admission rates, a personal welcome by a member of the team as well as free entry for the tour leader and coach driver. There are also special rates for pre-booked refreshments in the White Boar Café as well as guided tours.
The team can also arrange for groups to visit Leicester’s medieval Guildhall which is a minute’s walk from the King Richard III Visitor Centre.
