Will Tuckett's Nutcracker

Groups looking for an alternative to traditional Christmas entertainment this winter can book tickets now for Will Tuckett’s Nutcracker at Wembley Park.

Described as the world’s first 360 degree immersive ballet, Will Tuckett’s Nutcracker will see its world premiere take place at Wembley Park in London from 30th November to 8th January 2017.

As well as watching the ballet displays, groups will be able to interact with the dancers on stage, getting to explore sets such as a toy factory and a forest of snow-capped trees.

The show will be set in a 20,000 square foot temporary structure on the lawns of the park and feature live musicians and a cast of over 40 performers, who are from ballet, musical and theatre backgrounds.

Casting and creatives

Christmas ballet, The Nutcracker, originally by Tchaikovsky, will be brought to new life by choreographer Will Tuckett who fuses the worlds of classical ballet and immersive theatre.

Tuckett, who won an Olivier Award for his 2014 production of The Wind in the Willows, will work alongside producer Bob Watts (former Secret Cinema producer) in creating this new Christmas experience.

Will Tuckett’s Nutcracker will star former Royal Ballet principal dancer Adam Cooper in the role of Uncle Drosselmeyer, who, in the story, visits a party and awakens the nutcracker.

Cooper is said to have created the role of the swan in Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake and has also previously starred in Singin' In The Rain.

Woodroffe Bassett Design, the designers responsible for the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony, will be in charge of the lighting design.

The play will last 90 minutes and has musical arrangement from Andy Massey and set design from Colin Richmond.
