In light of the World Cup, and with football fever sweeping the nation, we round up a selection of top experiences linked to the sport that groups can enjoy now or in the future.

The Shankly Hotel Liverpool

This hotel offers both high-end accommodation and a unique insight into the life of football legend, Bill Shankly. Liverpool is where Bill Shankly reached footballing heights as a manager and this hotel acts as a mini-museum dedicated to his sporting career. Groups staying over can see old photos, football shirts, his MBE, and a telegraph from astronaut Neil Armstrong.

Old Trafford

A stadium tour can be enjoyed at Old Trafford, home of Manchester United. Sit in your favourite player’s seat in the dressing room, walk through the players’ tunnel towards the pitch and take Jose’s seat in the dugout. Plus, see the press room where the manager makes his statement after each home game, and the VIP room that has hosted so many big names over the years.

Manchester City Football Club

This club has launched a new tour for groups this year that provides an opportunity to explore both the Etihad Stadium and the city of Manchester. The city centre tour will visit a number of Manchester’s greatest landmarks, before heading to the Etihad Stadium to enjoy the Club, behind the scenes. The tour is suitable for groups of 20 or above.

National Football Museum

Six floors of football paraphernalia are to be discovered at this Manchester-based museum. A ‘walk of fame’ celebrating England’s greats, history exhibitions of the game, immersive football competitions and technology displays are all to be expected. Free admission is available as are tours for groups of ten or more.
