Whether it’s a traditional Christmas pantomime you’re after or a glorious West End musical, there’s plenty on offer in London this winter to delight and entertain groups.

For those organisers who haven’t booked tickets yet, we’ve rounded up some great shows taking place at the end of the year and running into next, to prove that there’s so much choice when it comes to being entertained in the capital.

Christmas picks

The pantomime of Cinderella at Hackney Empire from 18th November to 31st December still has tickets available. Cheer on the spirited heroine as she searches for love in spite of the exploits of her hideous Ugly Sisters and evil Stepmother, enjoy songs from a pair of singing mice, appearances from a magical Fairy Godmother, and slapstick comedy. Groups with ten or more get benefit from discounted tickets.

A Christmas Carol will be staged in the State Apartments at Windsor Castle from 16th to 30th December, featuring live music and immersive elements, transporting the audience back to a Victorian Christmas, where a cast of actors and musicians will transform the colossal space into Dickensian London. For ballet loving groups, the English National Ballet’s Nutcracker could provide the ideal Christmas celebration. Over 100 dancers and musicians will bring the Nutcracker to life at the London Coliseum to the tunes of Tchaikovsky’s glorious score played live by English National Ballet Philharmonic. Groups of ten or more can save 30% per ticket for mid-week performances.

And if you’re looking ahead already to next year, a Winter’s Tales will run at the Print Room fringe theatre from 6th to 22nd December 2018. This is a show which focuses on a selection of seasonal stories told by well-known actors and personalities in the atmospheric Victorian theatre in Notting Hill.

Five Guys Named Moe has recently opened at The Marble Arch Theatre and will be running until 25th November. The production is set to transport audiences back to the jazz bars of 1940s New Orleans and the soundtrack of soul, blues, gospel and r ‘n’ b is performed on stage by a live band. Group tickets are available through Group Line.

The Open House at Theatre Royal Bath, Ustinov Studio will be staged from 23rd November until 23rf December. The show is described as a wildly subversive and darkly hilarious take on the archetypal family drama. Son and daughter have come home to celebrate their mother and father’s wedding anniversary, but the atmosphere is strained and the dog is nowhere to be seen. Just as they hit a stalemate, things start to take a very unexpected turn. Ticket information can be found on the official Theatre Royal Bath website.

New shows

Witness for the Prosecution by Agatha Christie will be staged at London County Hall from 6th October until 11th March 2018. The show follows the story of Leonard Vole who is accused of murdering a widow to inherit her wealth. The stakes are high. Will Leonard survive the shocking witness testimony? Will he be able to convince the jury of his innocence and escape the hangman’s noose? Groups with eight plus can benefit from discounted tickets.

And for those who lover a thrill, The Exorcist will be coming to Phoenix Theatre from 20th October to 10th March 2018. Widely considered the scariest movie of all time, The Exorcist sparked worldwide controversy in 1973 when it was released in cinemas, where it petrified audiences.
