Date Posted: 21/12/2015

The Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink will return from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th April for its 13th year in 2016.

The foodie festival that runs for three days and three nights celebrates the variety of high quality food and drink made in the south west. It will feature more than 100 producers and exhibitors from the region.

Visitors can look forward to demonstrations from top regional chefs, interactive workshops and food-themed activities for both adults and children.

The weekend offers the opportunity to get a real taste of the region and to meet and speak to people behind the produce such as Burts Chips and Riverford Organic.

Each year, the festival hosts hands-on master classes and tastings, as well as plenty of children’s activities with the festival’s charity partners Exeter Foundation and Families for Children.

The Dart Farm Taste and Knowledge Teepees will return for another year with a packed schedule of informative and fun workshops, demonstrations and talks on topical food and drink.

New for next year will be a focus on artisan bread baking and a milk bar, helping to celebrate the region’s many dairy farms.

There will also be three ‘After Dark Music Festivals’ from Thursday 21st until Saturday 23rd April, which will include performances by local musicians.

Producers will be selling local beers, wines and ciders too, as well as a varied selection of street food.

Two star Michelin star chef and festival co-founder Michael Caine explained, “The Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink promotes the vibrant food and drink of the region giving visitors the chance to try local food, talk to producers and learn more about cooking and farming. The Festival sets out to educate, entertain, feed and refresh people and is open to people of all ages who want to enjoy the great food and drink of our region.”
