David Wood from Tourism Ireland outlines the organisation’s commitment to the group travel sector and highlights the diverse experiences available across the island of Ireland, from the Wild Atlantic Way to Game of Thrones locations.

As we look ahead to 2026, we want to express our sincere thanks to the coach and group travel sector for your continued partnership. This area remains a vital focus for Tourism Ireland, and we’re excited to collaborate with you in promoting holidays to the island of Ireland throughout 2026 and into the future.
Great Britain continues to be a vital market for tourism to the island of Ireland, accounting for a total of four million visitors and €1.8 billion of overseas tourism revenue. It remains our leading source of visitor numbers and overnight stays, and we are committed to making the most of the opportunities that this strong position presents.
Your clients can absorb the spellbinding scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way, the rich history of Ireland’s Ancient East and the natural beauty of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, to the vibrant cultural scene in and around Dublin and the unforgettable experiences waiting across Northern Ireland, the island of Ireland offers something truly special for every visitor.
There is something to capture the interest of every group. Foodies can taste local cuisine across Derry~Londonderry’s vibrant food scene with a Far and Wilde Foodie Cycle Tour or visit Treaty City Brewery in the heart of Medieval Limerick.
Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the jaw-dropping coastal walk of The Gobbins on the causeway coast or soak up the glorious sights of Limerick City from the water with Nevsail Watersports & Adventures. Lovers of fantasy and folklore can relive unforgettable scenes from Game of Thrones at Cushendun Caves, Co. Antrim.

If vibrant festivals are what you’re after, you’ll be spoilt for choice, from the island-wide St Patrick’s Day celebrations to the wonderfully spooky Púca Festival, which proudly celebrates Ireland’s heritage as the birthplace of Halloween.
Looking ahead to 2026, we launch our new ‘Ireland Goes Beyond’ campaign (keep your eyes peeled).
We are delighted our twinned region Limerick will be part of history in the making, when the 2027 Ryder Cup lands at the stunning Adare Manor!
What’s more, the island of Ireland benefits from quick, easy and hassle-free access from Great Britain with plenty of air and sea routes to choose from and the continuation of the Common Travel Area (CTA) means British and Irish citizens can travel between the two islands without a passport or visa restrictions, subject to ID requirements from the travel provider.
We can’t wait to welcome you and your groups to the island of Ireland!
