For over 1,400 years, St Paul’s has risen above London’s skyline – and above the everyday. Not a backdrop to history, but the place where it unfolded. Where Churchill’s funeral procession fell silent. Where the nation gathered in joy and grief. Where Wren’s extraordinary dome still stops you in your tracks and takes your breath away.
But St Paul’s isn’t a monument to be admired from a distance. It’s yours to step inside, explore and experience together on this Reader Club trip. Explore the magnificent Cathedral Floor and Crypt and visit the final resting place of Sir Christopher Wren, the Duke of Wellington and Admiral Lord Nelson on a private Cathedral Floor and Crypt tour.
Then take to the river from Bankside Pier on Thames River Sightseeing, offering a fantastic way to enjoy London from the water, with over 50 years of experience on the iconic River Thames. Cruises run between Westminster and Greenwich, calling at key piers including Tower Bridge, with frequent departures throughout the day.
Their modern and traditional vessels provide panoramic views, with live commentary and a multilingual audio guide via their app. Open decks and heated lounges ensure comfort all year-round whilst you sit back, relax and enjoy refreshments onboard as you make your way to Greenwich Pier.
Our final stop of the day is the Cutty Sark, which is located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Maritime Greenwich, part of Royal Museums Greenwich, alongside the National Maritime Museum, Queen’s House and Royal Observatory. Built for the China tea trade and famous for its record breaking voyages around the world as the fastest ship of its time, you will get to explore this iconic ship that brought tea to Britain through a private guided tour. Cutty Sark is an award-winning visitor attraction which offers private group tours, expert talks and a unique afternoon tea experience served beneath the ship’s gleaming hull.
