Date Posted: 05/01/2016

Comic theatre production Stones in His Pockets will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year with a new production and a national tour.

Described as a performance of breakneck pace, Stones in His Pockets will play at The Dukes Theatre in Lancaster from 25th February until 12th March, before touring the nation until 28th May.

Synopsis

Written by Marie Jones, Stones in His Pockets is performed by two actors who play a vast array of eccentric characters, the two main ones being Charlie and Jake.

The story follows the amazement, envy and delight felt by the pair as their quiet Irish village community is turned upside down following the arrival of a Hollywood film crew looking for the ‘real’ Ireland for their latest blockbuster film.

Irish actors Conan Sweeny and Charlie de Bromhead will play Charlie and Jake respectively.

The play’s director, John Terry said: “Stones in His Pockets is the most theatrical of theatre experiences. Two actors embody two whole communities of people – a rural Irish village, and a Hollywood film crew – in all of their vivid, eccentric glory.
