Charlie Dimmock

In April 2017, groups will be able to take a cruise along the Dutch waterways with special guest Charlie Dimmock on board.

The television gardener will join the four-day Amsterdam and Bulbfields Spectacular cruise, which will take place on board the mps Lady Anne on 25th April.

The itinerary will take passengers from Dordrecht in the western Netherlands to Schoonhoven, Zaandam, and Amsterdam.

Charlie will deliver talks and take part in Q&A sessions throughout the duration of the cruise. Plus she’ll accompany passengers on two excursions.

The first will be to Keukenhof Gardens, which has been dubbed ‘the most beautiful spring garden in the world’. At the time of this cruise, the gardens should feature seven million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths in bloom.

The second excursion that Charlie will join will be the trip to Aalsmeer Flower Auction, where more than half of the world’s cut flowers are traded every day.

The itinerary explained

Schoonhoven is known as the ‘silver city’ thanks to its profusion of silversmiths. This port allows groups to visit the Aalsmeer Flower Auction as well as the Historic Gardens, where visitors can learn about the history of flower cultivation.

Zaandam is a springboard for Keukenhof, but is also home to several fascinating windmills. Visitors to the city can also browse clog shops.

Amsterdam needs no introductions. On the Amsterdam and Bulbfields Spectacular cruise, River Cruise Line offers an optional canal cruise with cheese and wine excursion, which takes passengers along the Dutch capital’s historic waterways.
