To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the West End musical, producers of Les Misérables have announced a new cast including Killian Donnelly as Jean Valjean and Bradley Jaden as Javert.

Bradley Jaden will reprise the role of Javert as part of the show’s 40th anniversary run.

The anniversary cast will perform for a limited eight weeks, from 8th September to 1st November 2025.

Killian Donnelly is a well-known leading man on London’s West End, having appeared in The Phantom of the Opera (His Majesty’s Theatre), Kinky Boots (West End, Broadway), The Commitments (Palace Theatre), Memphis (Shaftesbury Theatre), amongst others. 

Another familiar face, Bradley Jaden will reprise the role of Javert, having played the antagonist in the Sondheim Theatre’s 2019 and 2024 productions. Theatre fans will also recognise him as Enjolras in The Stage Concert (2019), where he starred alongside Alfie Boe and Michael Ball.

West End leading man Killian Donnelly will play the iconic role of Jean Valjean from 8th September.

Other casting for the special anniversary performances includes Katie Hall as Fantine, Jac Yarrow as Marius, Shan Ako as Éponine, Jordan Shaw as Enjolras, Beatrice Penny-Touré as Cosette, Marina Prior as Madame Thénardier and Adam Gillen as Thénardier.

Gillen, who is best known for appearing as Liam Conroy in the hit ITV series Benidorm, will continue in his role as Thénardier past the special anniversary run, details of which are below.

A new regular cast of Les Miserables in London’s West End has also been announced.

This news follows the announcement of a new cast who, from 7th July, will launch the show into its 5th record-breaking decade. It will be led by Ian McIntosh as Jean Valjean alongside Sam Oladeinde as Javert, Katie Hall as Fantine, Claire Machin as Madame Thénardier, Thiago Phillip Felizardo as Marius, Amena El-kindy as Éponine, Joe Griffiths-Brown as Enjolras and Izzi Levine as Cosette.

Boublil and Schönberg’s score for Les Misérables with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer includes the classic songs, I Dreamed a Dream, On My Own, Stars, Bring Him Home, Do You Hear the People Sing?, One Day More, Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, Master Of The House and many more.

Les Misérables has been seen by over 130 million people worldwide in 55 countries, 452 cities, and has been translated into 22 languages. It has won over 180 major awards around the world, among which four Olivier Awards (including a special recognition award in April 2025), eight Tony Awards and five Helpmann Awards.
