Sabrina Boat 2016 cruise ideas unveiled

Sabrina Boat has revealed its themed cruises for the next year in Shrewsbury.

The Charles Darwin Cruise offers a historic twist to the original boat trip. Visitors will hear more about the famous Charles Darwin who was born in Shrewsbury, and see some spots where he experimented.

The church where he was baptised and the school which he attended growing up will also be viewable from the river on this tour. The live commentary will be provided by a town guide and tea, coffee and biscuits will be available on board.

For hot food on board, there’s the One Pot Dish & Cruise, which includes a choice of one pot dish (traditional chilli con carne served with sour cream and fresh coriander, Darwin original real ale stew with local root vegetables, Moroccan lam with chickpeas seasoned with coriander and cumin or meatballs in a tomato sauce) and a rustic bread role. This is an extended two hour cruise.

Special events

Sabrina boat will also host a range of special event cruises in 2016, including special Easter weekend tours (including a traditional hot cross bun), and Patron Days on board the boat.

St David’s Day cruises, meanwhile, include a traditional two course Welsh meal at a restaurant in the town centre, whereas any St Patrick’s Day extended cruise offers an Irish Stew and bread roll on board.
