Pumpkin Trail And Autumn Events Revealed At Burghley %7C Group Travel News

Burghley House in Lincolnshire has revealed a selection of autumn events, including the return of the Burghley Pumpkin Trail.

The pumpkin trail will run between the 14th and 30th October and will encourage groups to tread through crispy autumn leaves in search of hidden pumpkins to receive a treat.

Seasonal food will be on offer in the Orangery restaurant and the Garden Café, with hot chocolate and cups of steaming soup available to purchase.

From the 17th to the 31st of October, Burghley’s Spooky Tours will also be returning.

Visitors can take a torch lit tour of the the dark cellars to explore the history behind the forbidden outbuildings and centuries old cloisters.

The tour will also take visitors around some of the less visited areas of Burghley whilst they listen to spooky stories told by local ghostly expert Martin Tempest.

The spooky tour tickets will be on sale from early September.

The annual Burghley Flower Festival will also return in autumn once more and will see the state rooms of the house transformed with floral displays.

This year, it will have a royal theme.

Each room will feature floral arrangements, with societies creating displays under the heading of the Royal Households of Europe in celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday.

This year will also see the return of the Leicestershire Society of Botanical Illustrators, whose work will be displayed in the Great Hall.

The Burghley Flower Festival will be on display every day from the 1st to 9th October.

All events are included free with a House and Gardens or Gardens only ticket, except for the Burghley’s Spooky Tours which must be booked in advance.
