About Stranger Things: The First Shadow
Are monsters born… or made? In 1959 Hawkins, Indiana, the Creel family seeks a fresh start, especially their teenage son Henry, who is eager to escape his troubled past.
Initially, things go well — he finds friendship and joins the school play. But when a wave of shocking crimes strikes the town, Henry is forced to confront a terrifying truth: is there something inside him that connects to the horrors unfolding around him?
As this thrilling mystery races forward, shadows of the past are unleashed, relationships are tested, and the town of Hawkins faces the ultimate question: can the power of friendship outshine the darkness within?
In addition to London’s Phoenix Theatre the play is also performing on Broadway, New York City at the Marquis Theatre.
Stranger Things: a smash hit TV phenomenon
The Stranger Things TV show quickly became one of Netflix’s biggest hits after its first season back in 2016. It has gone on to enjoy huge success and been celebrated for its rich 80s nostalgia.
It even catapulted Kate Bush’s classic Running Up That Hill back into the spotlight, sending streams soaring on Spotify and propelling the track to the top of the UK singles charts for the very first time, nearly four decades after its release.
The highly anticipated fifth and final season will stream on Netflix from this autumn.
