Kent Life Reopens With New Packages For Groups %7C Group Travel News

Kent Life Heritage Farm has announced new group tours and packages following its recent restoration.

More than £250,000 was invested into the attraction earlier this year during a renovation period that last 18 weeks.

Now it’s open again the historic attraction has unveiled a collection of new tour packages, including Field to Fork and Rag Rug Making.

Field to Fork will take groups on a tour around the orchards, gardens and animal enclosures at Kent Life Heritage Farm to tell the story of field to fork and how the farm grows its own fruit and vegetables that are served in its tea room.

The outdoor tour will last between 45 minutes to one hour and will also teach groups about how Kent Life uses home-made compost, companion planting and heritage varieties to make the process as natural as possible.

The Rag Rug Making tour will teach visitors how, in the past, people would use the materials they had available to furnish their homes, using strips of old material to make warm rugs.

Groups will use vintage tools to create a rag rug piece that can later be turned into a scatter cushion or wall hanging. The experience will last for around one and a half hours.

Other tours available in 2016 include garden tours, where groups will be led through the kitchen and herb gardens with Kent Life gardener, Debs Reason, and Hoppers Delight.

Hoppers Delight is only available in September and begins with a tour and tasting at Shepard Naeme Brewery in Faversham, followed by a Shepherd Naeme pie lunch.

Groups will then continue on to Kent Life, where they will take a tractor tour of the site to visit historic houses and meet the farm animals.

The oast house and the hop garden will also be visited, where visitors will try their hand at hop picking. They will then be rewarded with cream tea.

Catering options such as lunch or cream tea are also available for groups in the Wagon Store, the Vintage Village Hall or Dotty’s Tea Room.

Group benefits include discounted admission prices, free all day coach parking, free admission for the coach driver and group leader, a welcome introduction and taster guided tour, a free heritage trail to accompany the visit, free familiarisation visit for the group organiser and free transport around Kent Life for visitors who may find it difficult to explore.
