East Anglian Railway

A new event called September Steam Day, has been launched by Groups Direct, offering a range of entertainment.

The event will take place on 17th September at the East Anglian Railway Museum in Chappel, Essex.

What to expect

The day includes unlimited steam train rides for visitors, as well as guided tours of the railway and museum which will take place throughout the day.

There will also be live entertainment including a live band. Visitors can also enjoy crazy golf and peruse the museum heritage centre during their visit.

Food will also be included at the September Steam Day, offering a range of lunches including homemade beef or Portobello mushroom and haloumi burgers with a range of chutneys, salad and coleslaw.

Groups visiting can learn about the history of the railway and how, in 1968, the project began to preserve the three mile long closed stretch of line which runs from Sudbury to Long Melford.

For groups

The attraction is suitable for coach groups with free coach parking available.

As the railway is a working line, groups can also opt to travel to the event via train to make the day more accessible.

Special admission rates are available for groups with ten or more people. Admission includes entry to the museum and railway, as well as lunch and the aforementioned entertainment.

Groups looking to book should contact Groups Direct on 0800 049 8309 or email reservations@Groupsdirect.co.uk.
