ABBA Voyage picked up their first GLT Awards trophy for Best Event or Live Experience. Sarah Nightingale said: “We are sincerely grateful to everyone who voted for us and helped make this achievement possible. This recognition means a great deal to us and inspires us to continue our personal dedication to create an experience like no other for the many groups attending ABBA Voyage.”
Michelle Gorman, managing director at Visit County Durham, said receiving the award for Best UK Destination, for the second year running, was a “win for County Durham’s entire visitor economy and recognition of its passion, creativity and resilience.”
The hotly contested Best Group Tour Operator Award was won by Riviera Travel. Alison Stoakes, trade support, groups & affinity manager, said they were “absolutely delighted”, and added: “What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it’s voted for by customers. It reflects the experiences we strive to deliver every day and is a testament to the passion, care and commitment shown by every member of the wider Riviera Travel family.”
Delfont Mackintosh Theatres was voted Best Ticketing Provider. Its group sales manager Russell Nicholson‑Lewis said: “This recognition means a great deal to us because it reflects the positive experiences our customers have when they visit. We are incredibly grateful for their support and for the wonderful feedback they continue to share.”
It was smiles all round for the Faulty Towers The Dining Experience team as it scooped the Best Group Dining Experience Award. Director Jared Harford said they were thrilled to have won for a third time. He told us: “We look forward to welcoming more groups to come join us in London and across the UK.”
London attractions were in the limelight, with a host of awards given out during the ceremony including for The National Gallery which was named Best Museum or Gallery. Travel trade sales manager Valentina Alfano said: “This prestigious award is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and expertise of our teams, whose passion and commitment help create exceptional experiences for our group visitors every day.”
Ollie Burton at London Transport Museum said they were thrilled to pick up their first national groups award after it was voted as the Best Guided Tour by Group Leisure & Travel readers. He said: “It’s a special milestone after 11 years of hard work.
“This recognition from the industry is incredibly rewarding, and it really reflects the passion, enthusiasm and expertise of our fantastic guides, as well as the dedication of our back-of-house team who work tirelessly to make these tours happen week in, week out.”
