We chat to Richard Forde, sales director at Involved Holidays about how they help GTOs plan their holidays and the destinations they expect to become popular.
What is the best part of working for Involved Holidays?
Involved Holidays are independently owned so it’s great that we can react quickly to market trends, new routes, new destinations and being part of a small friendly team that all share a love of travel and walking we are very collaborative in our ideas.
Which holiday locations are popular with groups?
Groups are very varied as we cater for specialist walking clubs and non-walkers to help them book guided walking holidays in the UK and Europe.
The groups that book with us do generally like the coast. So, Majorca, Malta & Gozo and Cyprus are firm favourites. Our top sellers for this year are Cyprus, the Algarve and Andalusia.
When is the best time of year for groups to book with you?
As early as possible to secure the best dates as some hotels have limited availability and clients rebook. 2026 is already on sale – however January is still the most popular booking month with group organisers.
How do you help group organisers during their holiday planning process?
We can advise on destinations and help plan any special requests - plus we create a private, “hassle free” tailored online group booking form for group travel organisers and their group, so group members can pay individually.
Groups that book with us benefit from tailored itineraries, extended holiday durations and exclusive dates for groups of ten or more.
Which destinations do you expect to become popular in the next year?
The launch of our new ‘Trails and Rails’ product to Porto continues to gather apace, so we will be launching Catalonia Trails and Rails too. Plus, as groups get more adventurous, our ‘Beautiful Balkans’ holiday taking groups to Albania, which launched in April, continues to be very popular.
