Alpamare Water Park

Yorkshire will see the opening of the Alpamare Scarborough waterpark next summer, built with various fun facilities plus a restaurant.

The multi-million pound water experience will include four long water rides, which run into a gigantic wave pool, a children’s water playground as well as two heated outdoor pools.

The complex will also have a spa for those groups who fancy indulging; there will be steam bath treatments and an outdoor iodine infinity pool overlooking the sea at North Bay.

An accompanying restaurant means groups can enjoy a meal as well.

The North Bay Railway and Scarborough Castle

Groups planning a trip to the waterpark next summer can create a longer stay by incorporating more of Scarborough’s attractions into an itinerary.

The North Bay Railway offers both a train ride plus extra attractions. A three quarters of a mile round trip goes from Peasholm Park to Scalby Mills stations, offering beautiful views of Scarborough’s North Bay.

Also on the site is a Sky Trail Adventure, which is a high ropes and beams physical challenge course. The trail is available for private group hire for parties of up to 30.

A café, and boat hire at Northstead Manor Gardens can also be enjoyed at the North Bay Railway.

Scarborough Castle might be of interest to history enthusiasts; and as an English Heritage property GTOs will receive 15 per cent discount when booking for parties of 11 or more.

The castle's heyday was in the 12th century when it was developed by Henry II and King John, and has seen action in some of England's most defining battles.

Visitors can explore the story of Scarborough through an exhibition in the Master Gunner's House, which houses artefacts spanning the whole period of Scarborough Castle's past, uncovered during site excavations.
