London Symphony Orchestra

The London Symphony Orchestra’s 2016/17 season is jam-packed with concerts and performances, and groups can take advantage of attractive rates when booking tickets at the Barbican.

There are over 50 classical concerts throughout the year to choose from, with a wide variety of music on offer and visits from some of the world's most famous soloists and conductors.

Group rates

The full season’s performances will be announced on 26th January, and GTOs can enjoy priority booking for groups, which opens on 1st February along with discounted rates.

Groups of ten or more receive a 20 percent discount on tickets to standard concerts; organisers might find themselves booking tickets for as little as £8 per person.

For organisers looking for a daytime option for their group, parties of ten or more also receive a 20 percent discount on tickets to BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concerts.

These are chamber music recitals that take place at the Barbican’s sister venue LSO St Luke’s, which is situated just five minutes away.

2016/17 season highlights at the Barbican

On 17th April, The London Symphony Chorus will celebrate its 50th anniversary with Haydn’s ‘nature’ oratorio The Seasons, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.

Then on 12th May, Schumann’s Piano Concerto and Beethoven’s Symphony No 9 (choral) will be performed, featuring Norwegian pianist and chamber musician Leif Ove Andsnes.

Later on in the year on 6th October, Symphonic Fantasies London will take place. Music from Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross will be conducted by Eckehard Stier, with arrangements by Merregnon Studios’ Jonne Valtonen and Roger Wanamo.

Symphonic Fantasies London is described as the ultimate concert experience for fans of Japanese RPG (role playing video games) and will provide groups with a different type of musical experience.
