The biggest, longest established and most important awards in group travel are once again asking GTOs to share their thoughts and opinions to help recognise the best attractions, experiences and suppliers.

Historic venues are popular with many groups and you can nominate your favourite in the Best Historic Attraction or Venue category.

The Group Leisure & Travel Awards for 2023 are underway with nominations open. Plus, find out about the changes being made this year to how you decide who wins. And we highlight the Awards Partners that have backed the 2023 initiative.

If you organise group trips, tell us what’s best

The awards are only successful because of their engagement with group travel organisers across the country who tell us who, what and where is best for group trips and holidays.

We want to hear the opinions of those who organise as a hobby or as a full-time job, or an individual who operates as an independent travel organiser.

GLT editor, Keeley Rodgers said: “Not only do we think it’s important to reward the best, but each year our awards also help to recommend venues, companies and locations to other groups. We couldn’t do it without our readers taking part, so we’re always grateful that these fantastic, active GTOs take just a few moments to give their verdict.”

Changes to how you tell us what’s best for groups

This year, how you determine the winners will take part over two rounds. Round 1 opened on 1st March and enables GTOs to nominate the best for groups across 18 categories (see Category Guide)

After the Round 1 deadline of 12th April, we will then ask group organisers to vote for the overall winners from a shortlist of six finalists in each category, based on the nominations previously received. GTOs will have until the summer to vote in Round 2.

2023 Awards Partners - supporting group travel

Each year, the GLT Awards programme celebrates the best across the industry and also rewards special individuals. But none of this would be possible without the support of the attractions, suppliers and companies that become Awards Partners.

Ambassador Cruise Line is the official partner of the 2023 Group Travel Organiser of the Year Award® category. Its business development manager - Alan Rennie told us: “As Ambassador looks to work even more closely with the group travel community in 2023, it is an honour for us to partner the prestigious Group Travel Organiser of the Year Award®, which recognises and rewards great work.

“Our ongoing support for these awards offers us the chance to engage and network with the key players in the sector.”

The GLT Awards enables GTOs to nominate their favourites in a range of categories, such as Best Cruise Line, Best UK Attraction, Best Ticketing Agency and Best Garden Visit.

Ben Delahunty-Jones, sales campaign manager for 2023 Awards Partner, Group Line also told us: “It’s important for us to support the Awards as they represent groups across the UK. It’s great that the awards are voted by the readers of Group Leisure & Travel magazine.

“We love the mix of groups that we get – coach operators, independent organisers, schools etc. Knowing that we have the ability to work directly with shows to ensure groups get the best deals to keep theatre accessible to all is a great feeling.”
