The new season will feature a wide range of dance styles, work by some of dance’s most renowned female choreographers and interpretations of Shakespeare’s works.

Sadler’s Wells’ 2026 spring season will see new productions and dance showcases, along with the return of popular older performers as part of Elixir Festival.
Sir Alistair Spalding CBE, Sadler’s Wells artistic director and co-chief executive, said: “We are delighted to be announcing a brand-new season brimming with some of the most exciting dance works.
“At Sadler’s Wells we say you really can get dance from every angle and the range of dance styles on show over the spring season demonstrates this. Audiences can enjoy ballet, tap, hip hop, contemporary, tango, flamenco, hip hop, mime and acrobatics across our venues next year.”
Elixr Festival
The biennial festival will take place from 7th to 11th April 2026 across Sadler’s Wells Theatre and Sadler’s Wells East.
Challenging perceptions around dance and age, the showcase will feature performances of the original company of Pina Bausch’s Kontakthof nearly 50 years since it was premiered, whilst Sadler’s Wells’ resident over-60s dance group - Company of Elders will also perform.

Contemporary dance
Sadler’s Wells spring season sees a lineup of contemporary dance including work exploring Antonio Vivaldi’s iconic The Four Seasons, inspired by the climate crisis and the world premiere of a collaboration between Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Sir Wayne McGregor, Rambert School, London and Juilliard School, New York.
There will also be two different takes on Shakespeare. The late South African choreographer Dada Masilo’s Hamlet reimagines Shakespeare’s play told through the eyes of Ophelia, whilst Shobana Jeyasingh’s We Caliban is an original take on Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

Ballet with attitude
Sadler’s Wells continues its year-round ‘Ballet with attitude’ programme, including presentations from nationally and internationally renowned companies.
The programme will include the English National Ballet’s new work from Sadler’s Wells associate artist Crystal Pite and a world premiere by Kameron N. Saunders, who has worked with the likes of Taylor Swift and Chappell Roan.
Carlos Acosta presents his revival of Don Quixote danced by Birmingham Royal Ballet, whilst Matthew Bourne’s award-winning iconic The Car Man returns.
The Peacock Theatre
The Peacock Theatre in Portugal Street, London, will host a range of entertainment as part of the season, including all-male comedy ballet company Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, who will perform as part of UK tour.
Onyx Productions makes their Peacock Theatre debut with 360 ALLSTARS, combining BMX tricks, basketball magic, beatboxing and acrobatics, and Stories – The Tap Dance Sensation will perform at the theatre as part of a UK tour which combines urban jazz, tap and percussion.
