Lambs at Blenheim

With over 3,000 lambs due to arrive at Blenheim this spring, the Palace has launched special lamb buggy tours, due to begin on 20th April.

The tours take place on golf carts, seating up to ten people at a time; larger groups can split into smaller parties to be able to enjoy the experience.

The 1,808 resident ewes were scanned by two members of the rural team in February, showing that 391 singles, 1,166 sets of twins, 218 sets of triplets and one set of quads are expected in the next few weeks.

These figures are the highest Blenheim Palace Estate has ever achieved, so there will be plenty of lambs to see during a visit.

The tours will be running through the park to the lambing fields set in the historic surrounds of the Grand Avenue. As well as spotting the lambs on the buggy tours, visitors will learn about Blenheim Palace's rich agri-history and discover more about the estate farm.

The tours will take place daily from 20th April until 3rd June.
