The Palace Theatre in Manchester will stage the English premiere of Irish musical TitanicDance on 24th September.
The show has already toured in China and the US, while the 2017 tour will see it run at the Belfast Waterfront, Dublin, Glasgow and Derry, before it returns to China from 2nd to 29th October.
About the show
TitanicDance tells the story of Titanic from its beginning in a Belfast shipyard to its tragic end in the Atlantic Ocean, featuring three times Irish Dancing World Champion James Keegan, along with a cast of 30 award-winning dancers and traditional Irish musicians.
The show was first presented to audiences in Ireland, when it opened at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, in 2014, before enjoying a sell-out run at the Millennium Forum in Derry.
TitanicDance was also invited to represent Ireland at the China International Folk Arts Festival in Qinghai last year, where it was broadcast live to 1.3 billion people.
It is produced by Millennium Forum Productions by arrangement with KSR Productions and promises live music, songs and original choreography. It is also supported by the Arts Council NI and the British Council.
About the production
Choreographer and lead dancer Keegan has been Irish dancing since the age of four, but began dancing professionally with Lord of the Dance, which has seen him travel all over the world for the last 14 years.
He has also appeared on TV programmes, including an American Presidential inauguration.
Creative director, producer and lead dancer Raymond Sweeney also started his professional career joining Lord of the Dance with which he performed in Las Vegas for six and a half years.
In addition, lead dancer Katrina O’Donnell has toured all over the world with shows such as Celtic Legends & Dance of Desire and most recently with Ragus, where she was given the opportunity to perform as lead while touring in Holland, China, Japan and France.
