Cunard

Cunard cruise line has recently announced its voyage programme for 2019, called Oceans of Discovery, which will include a trip to Alaska.

The Queen Elizabeth cruise liner will undertake an Alaskan voyage, which will mark the first time Cunard has crossed Alaskan waters in 20 years.

The ship will cross the North Pacific and Gulf of Alaska on its way to Vancouver, giving passengers a scenic experience.

Between January and May 2019, Cunard’s iconic flagship Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria, will call at 49 countries and 109 destinations.

New destinations besides Alaska include Boracay in the Philippines, Akita in Japan, and Goa in India.

Voyages in 2019

The World Voyage by Cunard will follow a route via the Panama Canal. Passengers can opt to do parts of the route or choose the full 107 night experience which will end with the Indian Ocean and South Africa, before returning to Southampton.

Another option is a Grand Voyage by Cunard, great for those looking for a classic ocean journey that takes in iconic sights and destinations. These cruises can range from 11 to 108 nights.

Groups can also opt for a cruise called Australasia that will see Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth taking roundtrip voyages between February and March, from Melbourne and Sydney to other popular regions such as South Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand.

There will be other cruise destinations and itineraries added to the 2019 programme in due course.

What else is new?

Cunard has announced a number of other changes for 2019.

The Queen Victoria will operate the only full circumnavigation in 2019 with The World Voyage by Cunard cruise. This is said to allow for Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth to have more flexibility to travel to a mixture of destinations with a range of itineraries.

Cunard will also be re-introducing a series of ten ‘old favourite’ destinations that haven’t been travelled to by Cunard in recent years, such as Beijing, Abu Dhabi and Chennai.

Alex White, VP sales for Cunard, said: “It’s an exciting time for Cunard, with a 2019 programme that offers more choice, more variety and more destinations for our guests than ever before.”
