The title casting for the first UK tour of Matilda The Musical has been revealed, ahead of the regional production opening in March in Leicester.

Annalise Bradbury, Lara Cohen, Poppy Jones and Nicola Turner will share the title role of Matilda across the first five venues of the tour.

The tour will launch on 5th March at Leicester Curve Theatre and will visit venues including Dublin, Manchester and Cardiff, before closing in January 2019.

The West End production will continue to play at the Cambridge Theatre, where it is now in its seventh year and booking until 10th February 2019.

Synopsis: Matilda

Matilda The Musical follows the story of a young girl who is constantly overlooked and belittled by her cruel parents, the Wormwoods, and her terrifying headmistress Miss Trunchbull.

As she dreams for a better life, her unique abilities see her stand out and fight for what she wants and change her own destiny.

The show is written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, and direction by Matthew Warchus. It is based on the children’s book, Matilda, by Roald Dahl.
