The Snowdrop Celebration is set to return to Bishop’s Palace on the 23rd and 24th February 2019.

Snowdrop Celebration at Bishop's Palace

Visitors will be able to mark the beginning of spring with a visit to the Somerset-based palace and its gardens, where an array of snowdrops will be on display in the moat and surrounding areas.

Enjoying the snowdrop walk

Upon arrival visitors will be able to pick up a copy of the Snowdrop Walk, which will show them the best route to enable them to experience the Moat banks carpeted with snowdrops.

The route will also guide them across the Willow Bridge to enjoy an arboretum full of different varieties of the flower.

To complement the gardens, there will also be a selection of craft and plant stalls in the Stable Yard Room where arts, gifts, and a selection of common and rare varieties of snowdrops will be available to buy.

Entry to the Snowdrop Celebration is included in general admission.

Group visits to Bishop’s Palace

The Medieval palace has been home to the Bishops of Bath and Wells for over 800 years, with 14 acres of gardens to enjoy and an array of locally-sourced homemade food, coffee and cake available to purchase in the Bishop’s Table café.

It is recommended that groups allow at least two hours to visit, and longer if they would like to stop for coffee, lunch or afternoon tea, to permit time to enjoy a walk around the gardens, a visit to the Bishop’s Chapel, which has been a place of worship since Medieval times, and to explore the Palace rooms.

In addition, the palace runs a programme of events across the year, including the Snowdrop Celebration, many of which are included in the price of admission but groups of ten or more can benefit from 10% discount on ticketed events.

Groups can also enjoy expert led tours (must be pre-booked), as well as discounted admission, 10% off The Palace Guide book and free admission for group leaders and drivers.

GTOs wishing to book a visit should contact Moira Anderson on 01749 988111 ext 203 or by emailing groups@bishopspalace.org.uk.
