From September, The Bishop’s Palace in Wells will be hosting a wide range of Heritage Skills Workshops and Arts Classes, which groups can book privately.
The numbers will vary for each course from around ten to 20 people, and group travel organisers can book whole sessions privately.
From carving to singing
Designed to appeal to beginners, enthusiasts and anyone wanting to discover a new talent or just have fun trying, the classes will encompass a variety of different disciplines.
Courses and workshops will include: Letter Carving, Stone Carving, Candle Making, Botanical Watercolours, Soap Making, Oil Painting, Lino Printing, Surface Embroidery, Singing and Christmas Wreath Making.
Sessions range from half-day classes to longer courses where you can develop skills in more depth. Participants will gain an understanding of the techniques and designs involved and create interesting pieces of work and handmade gifts to take away.

The Bishop’s Palace is the 800 year old home of the Bishops of Bath & Wells. The Medieval palace is also home to the wells and ancient springs that give the City of Wells its name, and the famous mute swans that ring a bell alongside the Gatehouse when they want their food.
