We know that groups like to book well in advance. So here’s a look at the shows GTOs should be booking up for 2019.
New for 2019
All About Eve
The show will run for 14 weeks from 2nd February 2019 at Noel Coward Theatre. The Emmy Award-winning Gillian Anderson (X-Files, The Fall, A Streetcar Named Desire) will return to the stage alongside Lily James (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Downton Abbey, Romeo and Juliet) to star in this show.
What’s it about? Ivo van Hove directs this new adaptation of All About Eve, described as ‘a razor-sharp, unsettling exposé of the eternal obsession at the heart of show-business.’
Come From Away
Opening in Dublin on 6th December, the show will then transfer to the Phoenix Theatre in London with an opening night of 18th February 2019.
What’s it about? The musical tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded air passengers during the wake of 9/11, and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them.
Waitress
Head to the Adelphi Theatre in February 2019 for the production featuring the first all-female creative team in London’s West End. The cast, along with full booking information, will be announced in due course.
What’s it about? Waitress based on the motion picture by the same name features music by singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles. The musical tells the story of Jenna, an expert pie maker in a small town, who dreams of a way out of her loveless marriage.
Shows to see before it’s too late

Aladdin
The Disney hit will be vacating its spot at Prince Edward Theatre next August to make way for Mary Poppins. Groups of ten or more can save money when booking tickets, so make sure to see it before it goes.
What’s it about? This show is based on the Disney story of Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie, and features songs from the animated film. It has been a hit in London and continues to captivate audiences.
42nd Street
The toe-tapping musical will be leaving its West End home of Theatre Royal Drury Lane in January, meaning there’s not much time left to see it on the biggest stage in London. The reason for its departure is down to restoration work expected to take place at the theatre.
What’s it about? The musical, currently starring Bonnie Langford as Dorothy Brock is about Peggy Sawyer, a performer who aspires to be on Broadway. She manages to get a place on the chorus line with leading lady Dorothy Brock, a renowned diva, but due to an incident in rehearsal, Dorothy is forced to step down as principal.
Bat out of Hell
The Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf musical will end its run at the Dominion Theatre on 5th January 2019. The show opened at the London theatre back in April this year.
What’s it about? The musical is described a romantic adventure about rebellious youth and passionate love, set against the backdrop of a post-cataclysmic city adrift from the mainland.
