Liverpool is celebrating its culture this year, so we round up some great events and festivals being held in the city that your group won’t want to miss.

This year Liverpool is celebrating ten years since it won the title of Capital of Culture with an array of colourful and lively events to remind visitors and locals why the city has so much to offer.

Here are some of the reasons why Liverpool is worth visiting in 2018…

International Beatles Week

If you’re a fan of the band then you’ll love visiting Liverpool in August when the International Beatles Week is taking place. This festival, running from 22nd to 28th August will celebrate the music of one of the world’s most famous bands and feature 70 acts from 20 countries, paying tributes and live music.

Liverpool Comedy Festival

Fancy a laugh? The Liverpool Comedy Festival will take place between 14th and 30th September across 20 venues throughout the city, featuring stand-up comedians, familiar faces and newcomers to the world of comedy.

Liverpool Food and Drink Festival 2018

All foodies out there will love visiting the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival 2018 between 15th and 16th September. This festival will include stalls selling some of the finest food from around the city and beyond. Groups will be able to watch live demonstrations, enjoy tasters and listen to guest speakers.

Liverpool Irish Festival

The Liverpool Irish Festival will be running from 18th to 28th October, spreading Irish cheer throughout the city. Through stories old and new to performances and entertainment, visitors to Liverpool will be able to immerse themselves in everything to do with the emerald isle.

Terracotta Army

Don’t miss your chance to see China’s Terracotta Army, currently on display until October at Liverpool’s World Museum. The world-famous sculpture army from China are presented at the museum (the first time in 30 years they have been displayed in a museum outside of London) offering almost 1,000 years of Chinese history.

Summer evening cruises

Mersey Ferries, which provides boat cruises on the Mersey River in Liverpool, is offering Summer Evening Cruises which will sail on selected dates until September featuring live bands and artists such as Keith Thompson, The Poor Boys and Xebra. Plus, the cruises will offer dining options for passengers.
