Date Posted: 04/07/2015

Animal conservation charity, the Zoological Society of London has created a range of wildlife encounter holidays in conjunction with adventure travel company Exodus.

An array of wildlife experiences spanning seven continents has been launched by ZSL – the charity best known for its zoos in Whipsnade and London.

The holidays will allow travellers to explore local cultures whilst directly contributing to the world-wide conservation of animals.

Highlights include Discover Costa Rica, Gorillas & Masai Mara and Borneo Wildlife Discoverer.

Discover Costa Rica features a journey to the Arenal Volcano, trips down mangrove canals, and a visit to Manuel Antonio, a national park where groups will relax on jungle-fringed beaches.

Overland expedition Gorillas & Masai Mara will take visitors through Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. The trip includes spending time in Rwanda’s Parc National des Volcans with a family of mountain gorillas, exploring Uganda’s Lake Mburo, and camping in Kenya’s Lake Nakuru National Park, home to a flamboyance of flamingos and the endangered Black rhino.

Borneo Wildlife Discoverer, meanwhile, offers a diverse wildlife experience in South East Asia. Travellers stay in a bamboo longhouse on a tea plantation at Mt Kinabalu, visit a wildlife sanctuary in Sandakan before encountering orangutans at Semenggok.

These experiences can be booked privately by groups.
