York home for ten-day comedy festival

Date Posted: 22/12/2014

The centre of York will be transformed between 24th July and 2nd August, as The Great Yorkshire Fringe comes to the city.

Four purpose-built venues will be set up to host events, called The White Rose Rotunda, The Barm Pot, The Turn Pot and The Tea Pot.

The line-up revolves around the three artistic disciplines of comedy, music, cabaret and theatre.

Plus there’s a family offering. Highlights of the festival include Just Like That! The Tommy Cooper Show, the Great Yorkshire Fringe New Comedian of the Year competition, and a performance by comedian Henning Wehn, who regularly appears on Have I Got News For You

The festival adds to a long list of events in York that attract millions of visitors every year.
