Ye Olde Games theme for Lichfield Heritage Weekend

Lichfield Heritage Weekend is scheduled for the 17th and 18th September, with this year’s theme confirmed as Ye Olde Games.

A celebration of the city’s rich and varied history, the event will include free entry to Lichfield’s heritage attractions and museums, each of which will be hosting activities relating to sports through the ages.

Entry fees will be waived for a number of attractions including Erasmus Darwin House, Lichfield Heritage Centre, Lichfield Cathedral, St John’s Hospital and Chapel, The Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum and Dr Milley’s Hospital (not usually open to the public).

Additional public activities are set to include a heritage trail, Ancient Greek costume in the Market Square, bow and arrow making for archery, costumed characters and storytelling. Guided tours of Lichfield city will also be available.
