World premiere of Mary Shelley

Mary Shelley, a new play by Helen Edmundson, will receive its world premiere at West Yorkshire Playhouse from 16th March to 7th April, before embarking on a national tour culminating at London’s Tricycle Theatre from 12th June to 7th July.

Billed as a bold exploration of the radical beliefs and relationships of Frankenstein author Mary Shelley, the title role will be played by Kristin Atherton. Additional cast members include Flora Nicholson as Fanny Wollstonecraft, Ben Lamb as Percy Shelley, and William Chubb as William Godwin.

Tour dates include Nottingham Playhouse (17th April to 5th May); Liverpool Playhouse (9th to 12th May); Hull Truck Theatre (15th to 19th May); Northern Stage (22nd to 26th May); Oxford Playhouse (29th May to 2nd June); and Winchester Theatre Royal (6th to 9th June).
