West End transfer for Driving Miss Daisy

Date Posted: 28/06/2011

James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines will reprise their roles in Driving Miss Daisy when it transfers from Broadway to the Wyndham’s Theatre in September.

Opening in the West End on the 26th September, Driving Miss Daisy is currently booking until 17th December. Alfred Uhry’s play, directed by David Esbjornson, had previously enjoyed a record-breaking sell-out run on Broadway until April this year.

When Daisy Werthan, a widowed, 72 year-old Jewish woman living in mid-century Atlanta, is deemed too old to drive, her son Boolie hires Hoke Coleburn, an African American man, to serve as her chauffeur. What begins as a troubled and hostile pairing soon blossoms into a profound, life-altering friendship that transcends all the societal boundaries placed between them.

GTOs should contact their preferred ticketing agent for further details.
