Waterloo remembered at Windsor Castle

Date Posted: 31/10/2014

From January, Windsor Castle will be marking the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo with a special display.

The commemoration will include an exhibition in the Drawings Gallery and a themed trail through the State Apartments.

Visitors will be able to see works of art depicting the battle that were commissioned by monarchs such as George Prince Regent, as well as artefacts seized from the battlefield itself, like a red cloak that once belonged to Napoleon.

Groups have been particularly borne in mind in the creation of this attraction. A special group programme called A Prince A Duke and An Emperor has been tailored, which guides parties around the highlights.
