Warwick Castle presents new attractions and special events

Date Posted: 02/12/2011

Group travel organisers planning a visit to Warwick Castle next year can look forward to new features and special events at the Merlin Entertainments attraction.

A new witchcraft experience is to open in The Castle Dungeon in early 2012, revealing how witches and witchcraft played a prominent role at the Warwickshire site from its earliest days as the fortification of Ethelfleda, daughter of Alfred the Great.

Commencing in the spring, group visitors will be able to enjoy the castle from a different perspective as river boating is introduced within the castle grounds. Then during the summer Warwick Castle will host its first World Jousting Tournament. Promoted as a celebration of horseback heroics, knights from around the globe will compete for the jousting crown.

Event highlights include a week of activities during February half-term focused on Great British battle and survival techniques; while Merlin: The Dragon Tower marks its first anniversary on 21st April with a feast of celebrations, dragon hunting, and feats of heroism.

Warwick Castle offers discounted rates for pre-booked groups of ten or more.
