Uttoxeter Racecourse: new group dining option available

Uttoxeter Racecourse in Staffordshire has opened a new £600,000 floor-to-ceiling glass-fronted restaurant at its premises.

The new restaurant – named 1907 – can cater for groups of up to 250.

For the first time, it offers racegoers the opportunity to dine whilst enjoying views of the track, and it’s now available to book for both race meetings and conferences and party nights.

The restaurant, banqueting and conferencing suite at Uttoxeter racecourse was previously known as Silks before a refurbishment created the new 1907 offering.

The contemporary new eatery will feature an ever-changing menu, which is currently being perfected by head chef Emmett Cassidy and catering general manager Anthony Gledhill.

1907 takes its name from the year when racing was first introduced to Uttoxeter.

For groups

There are plenty of packages available for groups visiting Uttoexeter Racecourse.

The Silver Package, for example, includes premier enclosure admission, a private hospitality box overlooking the Parade Ring, a race day programme, a three course meal – buffet style, a cash bar facility and a tote betting facility.

The Platinum Package is similar, but also includes a glass of Champagne on arrival, a five course meal, and fully inclusive drinks served until half an hour after the beginning of the last race.

About Uttoexeter Racecourse

Uttoxeter Racecourse is a National Hunt racecourse with a left-handed oval shaped course.

It was built and opened in 1907 by a company formed to take over the license of Keele Park racecourse, which had recently ceased to operate.

In 1907, there were just five days of racing – two in May, two in October and one in December.
