Travelodge chief executive%2C Peter Gowers.

Travelodge will open 19 new hotels across the country in 2016, increasing the company’s network to 542 accommodation sites.

The new developments are focused in some of the fastest growing locations for leisure travel, such as Poole, Weston-Super-Mare, Bicester and Thetford.

Further Travelodge hotels will open in London, as well as Chatham, Derby, Andover and Stirling.

Attractions for groups

For those planning to stay over in Poole, popular group attractions include the Poole Pottery Studio, where groups can watch skilled artists at work before having a go painting a pot at the visitor centre, and the Poole Museum.

The International Helicopter Museum in Weston-Super-Mare, Bicester Shopping Village and Dad’s Army Museum in Thetford are further options for groups to consider when staying at one of Travelodge’s new hotels.

Developments

In addition to this year’s openings, the hotel brand has identified 250 further locations for development in the UK.

Peter Gowers, Travelodge chief executive said: “To meet the growing demand Travelodge is continuing to invest in upgrading and expanding our network. These 19 new hotels, many with our new bar café restaurants, mark another important step in our drive to deliver greater quality for our customers.”

Travelodge has also recently completed a £100 million hotel modernisation programme, which was designed using feedback from the company’s leisure and business customers.

Gowers added: “Our recently completed £100 million hotel modernisation programme has raised quality levels and led to strong growth from business customers to complement our traditional strength in leisure travel.”

Travelodge offers bespoke group rates at all its hotels.
