The Russian State Ballet announces 2016 tour dates

Date Posted: 18/09/2015

The Russian State Ballet and Orchestra of Siberia will undertake its 14th UK tour in 2016, running between January and March with destinations set to include Wolverton, Leicester and Brighton.

The touring production will put on four popular ballets: The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, and Swan Lake.

Audiences can also enjoy (at particular venues) the UK premiere of a brand new production, The Snow Maiden.

The new ballet is set in the snow-covered landscape of rural Russia, and follows the fate of a snow maiden, who is swept from the enchanted Land of Frost into the human world where a tragic love affair awaits her.

The tour will begin at Bristol Hippodrome on 5th January, and close at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre on 22nd March.

Each theatre on the tour will play a selection of the five ballets on various dates (not necessarily all five).
