Graham Tudor will play Jamie in The Last Five Years

Broadway musical The Last Five Years will return to The Epstein Theatre in Liverpool for a second time this summer.

The Last Five Years was first staged at The Epstein Theatre in June 2013 and will return to Liverpool from Wednesday 7th to Saturday 17th June.

The musical tells the story of two New Yorkers – vivacious struggling actress Cathy and up-and-coming-novelist Jamie – who fall in and out of love over the course of five years together.

It is told from both the characters’ perspectives, however each chronicles the story from opposite ends of the relationship. Cathy’s story begins at the end of their relationship and reverses back to its hopeful beginning, whilst Jamie’s starts at the hopeful beginning and moves towards the tragic end.

Graham Tudor, whose credits includes Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Mamma Mia and Grease, will play the role of Jamie.

Meanwhile, Tudor’s off-screen partner, Helen Noble, who is most recognised for her role in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks as Abby Davies between 2000 and 2005, will play Cathy.

The Last Five Years first premiered Chicago’s Northlight Theatre in 2001 before touring worldwide. It was also adapted into a film starring Anna Kendrick in 2014.

Written and composed by Tony award winning composer Jason Robert Brown, the musical will be directed by Iestyn Arwel.
