Stratford Butterfly Farm celebrates 30 years

Date Posted: 19/03/2015

The Warwickshire haven for winged creatures was first opened in 1985 by David Bellamy.

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the farm is staging an exhibition of old photographs from when it was first opened by David in July 1985.

The exhibition, which promises to give visitors a fascinating insight into the history of the farm, will run from 28th March until the end of the October half term. There is no additional charge to view it.

Over the years the Butterfly Farm has continually added to its inhabitants and now has bird inhabitants, an Insect City and Arachnoland and behind the safety of glass is a Goliath Bird Eating Spider.

Jane Kendrick from the Stratford Butterfly Farm said: “We are delighted to be celebrating our 30th anniversary this year and hope that visitors will enjoy our exhibition and seeing what the Butterfly Farm looked like in 1985.”
