Date Posted: 29/12/2012

IWM Duxford has announced its 2013 line-up of special group travel events; ranging from classic cars and military monster vehicles, to Spitfire nostalgia and animals in the armed forces.

Spring Car Show

Taking place on 5th May and included in standard admission to IWM Duxford, the Spring Car Show offers groups of car enthusiasts the chance to see a host of classic and contemporary cars.

Military Vehicle Show

Coinciding with Father’s Day on the 16th June, group visitors can view a display of contemporary and historic military vehicles.

As well as the chance to climb aboard some of the vehicles for a closer look, living history groups will demonstrate equipment, uniforms and transport from a range of military campaigns.

Spitfires, Merlins and Motors

This nostalgic event takes place on the 28th July, celebrating the Supermarine Spitfire and the Merlin engine. With a number of Spitfires on static display, some will also take to the skies to perform short aerial displays.

Living history groups will also be on hand bringing the era of the 1940s to life.

Animals in War

This furry-themed event on the 11th August will enable special interest groups to find out more about the courageous roles played by animals during war and conflict. There’s even the chance to meet some four-legged military mascots and working animals.

Group travel arrangements

IWM Duxford offers a host of benefits for group travel organisers arranging a visit for ten or more people, including discounted admission rates, guided tours, talks and activities.
