Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival

London’s Southbank will be transformed into a festive landscape with a twist as part of the Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival, running from 16th November to 7th January.

Plan a group trip for the chance to explore a variety of art installations across the site, from a festive take on a giant African baobab tree to a seasonally dressed bandstand.

Visitors can also enjoy a programme of free events as part of the Winter Festival, including choirs singing by the river and gigs in the Royal Festival Hall Foyer. There’s also the chance to join in making Christmas cards and presents, or dancing in The Clore Ballroom.

Southbank Centre’s Christmas Markets

Group travel organisers seeking retail therapy can plan a visit to coincide with one of the Southbank Centre’s Christmas Markets.

Designers/Makers Market: Taking place from 14th to 16th December in Festival Village (Queen Elizabeth Hall), offering the chance to buy products by contemporary craft designers from across the UK.

Southbank Centre Christmas Market: Taking place from 16th November to 24th December, a host of wooden huts will line the Queen’s Walk along the river, selling a selection of gifts, food and drink.

Real Food Christmas Market: Offering all manner of traditional festive bites in Southbank Centre Square, running from 14th to 16th December.

Winter shows and festive productions

The Southbank Centre will play host to festive shows and productions for all ages, from a beat-boxing clown and comic cabaret, to candlelit classical concerts. Highlights include:
