Shakespeare’s New Place, a new heritage landmark in Stratford-upon-Avon, has announced that group rates will be available when it opens in July.

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is marking the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s death by reinventing Shakespeare’s New Place, the ground where he had his family home for 19 years.

The new attraction will be a permanent celebration of the playwright’s influence for future generations.

What can visitors see at Shakespeare’s New Place?

The project at New Place is a retelling, rather than a rebuilding, of Shakespeare’s personal home which was demolished three centuries ago. The plot has been conserved as a garden in honour of Shakespeare ever since.

The transformation of the historic site will tell the story of Shakespeare, showcasing specially commissioned artworks as well as a major new exhibition which will be displayed in the Grade I Tudor Nash’s House, adjacent to Shakespeare’s New Place.  

Visitors will be able to envisage Shakespeare as a father, husband and businessman, as well as a playwright.

Group rates

Alongside bespoke tours and events, special rates are available for groups hoping to visit Shakespeare’s New Place when tickets are purchased in advance.

Parties of 15 or more will benefit from a 15 per cent discount when booking within 14 days of their visit, and can receive an additional ten per cent discount when booking and paying for a visit at least 14 days in advance. 

Other benefits for group tour organisers include free familiarisation visits, free admission for organisers and drivers, and free coach parking for groups visiting Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Mary Arden’s Farm.
