Oxford Castle will commemorate Shakespeare with a two-month-long line-up of the bard’s works.

In a new celebration of the great bard, Oxford Castle Unlocked will host a series of performances over the summer, to be performed in its historic Castleyard.

This outdoor stage will see Oxford Castle become the backdrop to Shakespeare’s plays, with 7pm performances drawing to their close as the sun sets.

Between 22nd June and 15th August, the castle will showcase As You Like it, presented by BMH, running from 22nd June to 4th July, Romeo and Juliet presented by Tomahawk Theatre from 20th July to 1st August; Titus Andronicus presented by Siege Theatre from 3rd to 15th August; and Comedy of Errors, presented by Don’t Hate the Players, from 3rd to 15th August.

Alongside the performances, the Oxford theatre festival will feature a series of pre-show talks and acting master-classes, with special offers for groups over ten.
