Severn Valley Railway: Autumn events

Severn Valley Railway (SVR) will continue its Golden Jubilee celebrations this autumn with a host of events ideal for groups.

September events

Groups will find more than 30 vintage buses on display at the On the Buses show on 6th September and will be able to enjoy free trips around the town in a range of classic vehicles.

The Autumn Steam Gala will offer a line-up of visiting and home-fleet steam locomotives including the No. 70000 Britannia - the former SVR resident and first British Railways standard locomotive to be built, back in 1951.

The four-day gala will run from 17th September to 20th September. Further announcements of locomotives at the event are due to announced shortly.

October events

The Diesel Enthusiasts’ Gales, between 1st and 3rd October, will give groups the chance to see the No. D9531 ‘Teddy Bear’, as well as the SVR’s home-fleet.

Steam train rides through the Severn Valley, alongside activities for children at the Engine House Visitor Centre will be on offer during the half-term week between 24th and 31st October.

The SVR’s Halloween Ghost Trains service, running from 29th to 31st October will offer entertainment from Disco Daddy before departing from Kidderminster into the night.
