Secrets Of The Reef To Open At Sea Life Brighton %7C Group Travel News

Sea Life Brighton will open a world first on 24th March – Secrets of the Reef.

The brand new installation will encourage visitors to discover a Maldives reef  and meet its residents such as the regal tang and clownfish.

Secrets of the Reef will allow visitors to get closer to the creatures with interactive displays and a new crawl-through coral reef.

The attraction will bring more than 400 new fish – across 31 different species – to Sea Life Brighton, as well as 70 seahorses, two tons of rocks and over 15,000 litres of water.

The installation is the result of 12 months of planning and four months of intensive preparation work.

Max Leviston, general manager at Sea Life Brighton commented, “We are thrilled that Sea Life Brighton has been chosen to unveil Secrets of the Reef for the first time!

Secrets of the Reef is an incredible installation with everything from bold, colourful creatures to a strong message about the importance of conservation, a range of fun and educational activities and the chance to get up close to these beautiful underwater species. I am certain that Secrets of the Reef is quickly going to become one of our most popular attractions – and a real must-see this Easter!”

The installation will also introduce two new creature zones to Sea Life Brighton – Secrets of the Reef Coral Gardens and Seahorse Nursey. These areas will highlight the aquarium’s coral conservation project in the Maldives and its seahorse breeding program.

Sea Life Brighton is already home to the UK’s first glass-bottomed boat, an interactive rock pool, and over 150 marine creatures including the Giant Pacific Octopus.

Secrets of the Reef is the second global launch at Sea Life Brighton in as many years, following the aquarium’s Jurassic Seas installation in 2015.
