Touch base at Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands on Saga’s latest tours.

Saga has unveiled details of their newest tour, which takes groups of up to 25 people around some of South America’s most iconic sights.

The 13-night trip, which has departure dates between March and July, and September and November 2015, introduces travellers to sights on land and at sea.

The trip begins in Peru’s capital Lima where guests stay overnight before transferring to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu by narrow-gauge railway.

It continues on to Cuzco, one of the world’s highest cities, before travellers fly on to the Ecuadorian capital Quito, which is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in itself.

The next stage of the journey takes groups to the Galapagos Islands, where they’ll board the adventure cruiser mv Galapagos Legend to explore the islands that inspired Charles Darwin to develop his Theory of Evolution.

The trip costs £4,399 per person and this includes a door- to- door chauffeur service and most meals.
